Free Technics is now offering even more on board flexibility after
integrating its unique modular control and monitoring software,
FT NavVision™, with one of the first ever PC-based radars,
IRIS – radar with vision™.
Previously, it has only been possible to bring
radar and charting together with very expensive, external hardware
solutions. Now, with the addition of IRIS, FT NavVision is turning
on board computing into a reality, within one cost effective, premium
quality, integrated system - including navigation, navigation instruments,
engine management, tank levels, alarms, propulsion, boat management
and the new IRIS radar.
Delivering high-resolution images with dynamic
colour range, IRIS cuts through sea clutter to provide clear and
accurate environmental information with greater precision than any
other comparable system.
Radar Information
The Radar is based on the most advanced technique there is.
FT NavVision is using a new technique that is based on one printed
circuit board an PCI card that is translating the analogue radar
singles into digital singles who can be used on a computer.
No other radar in the world at this moment is
using this technique on board of yachts. Only military equipment
is using the same level of technique, but is not possible to use
on yachts in behalf of the price.
