About NavVision
FT NavVision™ was conceived by people
with a considerable degree of experience on board vessels and software-designers
who did not hesitate to listen to these experienced people. A close
eye was kept on the ease of control and the use of touch-screen technology
. Also, the effect of light is taken into account (for example reflections
on the screen, complete darkness in the wheel house and back-light).
A completely new technology has been devised for the adjustment of
clarity, dimming and screen colouration.
The configuring of non-linear data (like
tanks made to match the hull for optimal use of space) has been
brought back to a few simple steps. Combining instruments, alarms,
control of equipment and display of camera-feeds poses no trouble
whatsoever.
Of course the entire safety of both your system
and vessel have been taken into account through the use of passwords
and the associated permissions.
Free Technics’ co-operation with large companies
in the field of communication hardware, operating worldwide, has
made our software independent of self-made hardware. Because of
this, we can guarantee global service easily.
FT NavVision™, be it a single module or
a complete system, has been successfully installed on over 500 vessels.
The size of your vessel is of no importance: we have supplied systems
to vessels ranging from less than 10 meters to well over 50 meters.
The largest projects we have successfully completed so far were
a 45-meter sailing vessel with 6 computers, and a 55-meter motor-vessel
with 5 computers and multiple monitors.
Commercial vessels like the dredging vessel “De Hein”
and the pilot vessels of Oostende, Belgium are prime examples.
FT NavVision™ is generally considered by
its users as a flexible and easy-to-use system that, when linked
to compatible hardware, proves to be one of the most reliable and
easy to install systems for vessel-navigation and –control.
All in all: a most reliable partner!
What can FT NavVision™ mean to you?
- An extra set of both eyes and hands
- A constant source of information
- An extra navigator
What are the minimum specifications?
FT NavVision™ works on a Microsoft Windows-compatible notebook
or desktop; more specifically Windows 2000 or XP (both Home and
Professional Edition). In the near future Linux will also be supported.
The actual size of your computer is dependent on many factors. However,
any newer computer will most likely be suitable.
What is FT NavVision™ capable of?
- Nigh limitless configurations and completely
hardware-independent concerning computer and I/O components.
- Simultaneous communication over 16 COM-ports
with various protocols via both analogue or digital in- or output.
- Simultaneously receiving values and transmitting
instructions to equipment and PLC.
- Functioning in a network of multiple computers.
- Creating and completing job-controlled solutions.
- Alarms may be sent to external devices such
as cell phones, pagers, e-mail or other computers
This means that every piece of vital information
is accessible from every point of the vessel, and that every instruction
can be sent from any place on the vessel to any place on the vessel.
What can be monitored by FT NavVision™?
In essence, every instrument and every value can be displayed when
its provided with an outgoing port using an accepted protocol, or
a sensor with an amperage between 4 and 20 mA or a voltage of 10
Volts. At the moment there are already over 230 instruments available.
- Navigational maps
- Bridge-instruments
- One or two engines
- Propeller axles
- Stabilizers
- Generators
- Tank volume
- Camera display
- Alarms
- Monitoring
Efficiency on board your vessel!
No more messy console with instruments laying about, disrupting
the unity on your console and making it impractical to use; but
a clean virtual environment, making it both safer and more effective.
FT NavVision™ monitors all your navigational, motor- and tank
data and alarms, and orders it all well-organized on your screens.
FT NavVison™ is able to display data in such a way that there
is no need for scrolling. Set alarms are automatically displayed.
Suitable for use in networks
FT NavVision™ is capable of operating within any network imaginable.
For optimal safety, the software is also capable of providing multiple
computers with the same input, or to have a second computer function
as a back-up terminal.
Communication is now a reality
Your home-base can be informed, on-line, about the status of your
vessel. Your vessel can also be monitored from your home-base. Any
saved log-files will be transmitted.
Cheaper than a hardware-system
By combining both the right hard- and software, FT NavVision™
is the solution that is cheaper and more flexible than any conventional
hardware-system. Future software-updates guarantee an ever up-to-date
solution without any disinvestment.
Alarm on errors
For practically any value provided to the software, both a minimum
and maximum value can be assigned. Moreover, it is also possible
to assign an extra maximum and/or minimum value, which can only
be changed by an authorised person. All events that trigger an alarm
can be stored in a log-file.
Log-files
Practically every value in your system can be stored in a log-file.
This “comma separated” file can be viewed, externally,
in almost every spreadsheet-software, for creating your own history-graphs.
Colour settings
A great amount of attention has been spent on the optimization of
screen-colours. Every desired colour is, through the use of a colour-palette,
available for use as the base colour of FT NavVision™. With
just a single click, you are able to set the optimal colour for
daylight, full sunlight or even night.
Scaling of screens
Automatic scaling of the lay-out on your screen is integrated. Through
this, it is possible to apply multi-screen within Windows, and to
use screens with different resolutions.
FT NavVision™, product of both the
present and future
FT NavVision™ is a software package of today, which is modular
in design. The software is in constant state of development, and
future modules and possibilities can always be implemented after
purchase.
The modular structure enables you to purchase
the software in parts. The possibilities for configuration are limitless.
Every single instrument can be changed, by yourself, in a different
instrument. You can also choose between a digital, analogue or graphic
display.
Six extra, separately moveable instruments enable you to create
many combinations of various data.
