Industrial
& Marine Electrics was awarded a $5.5 million contract
in March 2004 by Ergon Energy Corporation Ltd to design
and construct a 6MW gas-fired turn-key power station in
Moranbah. The project was extended in July 2004 to double
the power station’s capacity to 12MW.
The
power station, which is the first of its type to be undertaken
by Ergon Energy, comprises eight reciprocating, gas-engine
generating sets with all the associated electronic and
mechanical systems required for a fully automated operation.
